Kathryn Aileen Springer

Kathryn Aileen Springer, 76, of South Haven, died Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. The one who brought five loving children into this world has left for a better one. She was born February 9, 1937 in Benton Harbor to Albert and Helen (Horton) Brady. She married the love of her life – Leland Springer on May 22, 1953. Following their union, they had five children. Kathryn, with her husband, owned two businesses – Lee’s Trading Post & Food Mart and Lakeshore Appliance. She also retired from Scott ATO in South Haven. Kathryn loved God and was a faithful Christian woman

She was preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Leland; two daughters – Brenda and Kathleen; siblings – Arthur (Beverly), Charles, Ronald (Betty), William (Charleen), Patricia and Priscilla.

Kathryn is survived by her children – Karen (Dale) Webster, Kathy (George) Vellema, and Michael (Donna) Springer; grandchildren – Tamar Erb, Amy Webster, and Amber Springer; great grand children – Austin Klock, McKayla Klock, Caleb Erb, and Madison Erb; four sister-in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home of South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Douglas Dunn officiating. Contributions may be made in Kathryn’s memory to the Lake Michigan Beach Community Church. Kathryn will be laid to rest at Crystal Springs Cemetery in Benton Harbor.
