Charles's Obituary
Charles Emmett Shobe “Cat Daddy” of Covert, MI., formerly from Detroit Michigan, was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Lakewood Critical Hospital in Berrien Center.
He was born on July 3, 1935 in Indianapolis, IN. to his parents, father Edwin Fredrick Shobe and mother, Florence Harper Shobe.
Charles worked for 31 years as a truck driver/ forklift driver at Utica Trim Plant for Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Mi. He enjoyed sports, family gatherings, and jazz music. He loved his animals and his wife’s (Cat Momma’s) cooking.Charles was a member of Covert Congregational Church. He is dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Edwin F. Shobe Jr. and three children, one son Charles Shobe (Jr.) and two daughters Jocelyn Johnson and Tracey Reed.
Charles is survived by his wife Marianne Hollman – Shobe, and six children Rachel Saverson, Delilah Wilkinson, Carla Shobe, Quentin Shobe, Scott Jackson Hollman, and step daughter Stacy Clarke, his sisters, Ernestine Ford, and Sheila Shobe Gazaway, and 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, and his very dear friend Bob Wines of Coloma, MI.
Visitation will be August 16th 2013 at 10:00am and followed by the Service at 11:00 am at the Covert Congregational Church by the township Hall. There will be a food celebration afterward, all are Welcome.
