Richard Larence Bloecker

Richard Laurence Bloecker, 75, of South Haven, died on September 5, 2013 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  He was born on August 15, 1938 in Chicago, IL.  Known to friends and family as Rich, he had a love for the outdoors and a passion for hunting, fishing and  snow skiing.  Rich was a trained draftsman and put his skills as a carpenter to good use when he worked at the Michigan Maritime Museum's Padnos Boatshed with his friend and boat shed director David Ludwig.  He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and South Haven Steelheaders.   

Rich was preceded in death by his parents and one son - Scott Bloecker (Francine) and a daughter - Marcella Hahn (Thomas).

 He is survived by his wife - Phyllis Anderson of South Haven, MI; his children - Randall Bloecker of Rivergrove, IL and Stacy (David) DuPree of Chicago, IL;  brother - Wayne (Donna) Bloecker of Overland Park, KS and Sister- Holly Dolan of McHenry, IL; also eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many close friends who appreciated his dry wit, thoughtfulness, and friendship.
