Larry's Obituary

Larry F. Blackston, 69, of Bangor, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at his home under Hospice care. He was born July 10, 1944 to Coy and Vivalee Blackston in LePanto, Arkansas. Larry was a blueberry farmer for twenty years until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the Fresh Start Gospel Church in Pullman where he played the guitar during worship. Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death along with his parents by his brother – Junior Blackston.

Larry is survived by his wife of fifty years – Betty (Barton) Blackston; four sons – Jimmy (Mary) Blackston of Grand Junction, Randy Blackston of Bangor, Glen Blackston of Covert, and Johnny (Wendy) Blackston of Coloma; one daughter – Jennie (Jim) Atteberry of Lawton; three brothers – Johnny O. Blackston of Coloma, Bill Blackston of Kalamazoo, and Tommy (Rosie) Blackston of South Haven; two sisters – Mary (Charles Pugh) Blacksston of Hartofrd and Linda (Bob) Tanner of Bangor. 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastors Jimmy Blackston and Eddie Watson officiating.
