Eleanor Regina Corey

Eleanor Regina (Wojtanowski) Corey, 86, of South Haven, went to be with the Lord and was reunited with the love of her life, Marshall, on Tuesday, November 26, 2013.  As was her wish, she died at home.  She was born on March 26, 1927 to Joseph and Regina Wojtanowski.  Eleanor worked at the Overton Picture Frame Factory for many years before she had children.  Eleanor and her husband, Marshall, enjoyed their winters for many years in Florida where they could be close to their daughters and grandchildren.  She also enjoyed being in the garden and reading.

She is preceded in death by her parents,  her husband: Marshall Corey, her sister: Josephine Wojtanowski and her step-father: Charles Makaryk and her step daughter, Janet Corey Growden.

Eleanor is survived by her children: Karin (Chuck) McChesney and Carol Corey Webb both of Boynton Beach, FL., her step-children: Craig (Nancy) Corey of Severance, Colorado, Marcia (Roger) Wight of South Haven, MI, two grandchildren, one great grandchild, 7 step grandchildren, 13 step great grandchildren,  sisters: Sue (Les) Soergel, of South Haven, MI, Joanne Schemenauer of Three Rivers, MI,  her best friend, Betty Dykstra and her close friends,  Joan Corey Hoyt and Millicent Huminsky and her caring neighbors the Griffiths and Charlotte Quinn.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013, from 4:00 P.M. to 6 P.M. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastors Matthew Deames and Raymond Bartels officiating.  Eleanor will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven.  Friends wishing to make a memorial contribution can do so to Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
