Roxie's Obituary
Roxie A. McMath, age 101 of Covert, Michigan, went to be with her Lord Thursday, December 19, 2013. She was born October 23, 1912 to George and Carrie (Gill) Hall in Sharkey, Mississippi. Roxie was a member of the Eastern Star and Gospel Tabernacle both of Covert, Michigan.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Moses McMath, Sr. who passed in 1990; her sons Willie Palmer, Jimmy McMath, Larry Palmer, and Mose McMath Jr.; four sisters and five brothers.
Roxie is survived by her daughter, Rosie (George) Taylor of Covert, Michigan; sons, Henry (Thelma) McMath of North Chicago, Illinois, and James (Luella) McMath of Bangor, Michigan; daughter-in-law – Wanda Palmer of Kalamazoo; grandchildren – Betty Cargill and Robert Lee Scott of Pueblo, CO. She is survived by 41 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 29 great-great-grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Wake will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, December 27, 2013 at the Gospel Tabernacle Church of Covert. Funeral services will follow wake with Pastor Henry Allen officiating. Roxie will be laid to rest in Covert Cemetery of Covert, Michigan.
