Stella's Obituary
Stella M. Skinner, 91, of South Haven, died Friday, January 10, 2014 at the South Haven Health Systems. She was born June 18, 1922 to Alex and Katazyna (Winnovski) Sheputis in Chicago, Illinois. Stella worked at the South Haven Fruit Exchange and for South Haven Public Schools in the cafeteria. Stella married Thomas Skinner on December 14, 1940 in Allegan.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband of forty-five years – Thomas Skinner who passed in 1985 and one brother – Mike Sheputis.
Stella is survived by her children – Eugene (Earlene) Skinner of South Haven and Katherine (Richard) Mayer of Coldwater; seven grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, one brother – Edward Sheputis of South Haven.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 17, 2014 the Kibbie Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Ken Kruithoff officiating. Stella will be laid to rest at Chambers Cemetery in Geneva Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Stella’s memory to the Kibbie Christian Reformed Church, 00479 CR 687, South Haven, Michigan 49090.
