Migueila Velez Garcia

Migueila Velez Garcia, 64, of Hartford, died Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. She was born January 10, 1950 to Frank Velez and Petra (Flores) Carrillo in Hamlin, Texas. Migueila worked was a secretary for Hartford Public Schools. She loved to go dancing and loved her church. Migueila loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was always on the go and keeping active.

She is preceded in death by her parents – Frank Velez and Petra Carrillo.

Migueila is survived by her children – John (Judy) Carrillo of Covert, Frank Carrillo of Grand Island, NE, and Valerie Orozco of York, NE; two brothers – George (Angel) Velez of Rotan, TX and Johnny (Carol) Velez of Chicago; sister – Sylvia Morales of Rotan, TX. Eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home of South Haven. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hartford. Migueila will be laid to rest at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hartford.
