Edward's Obituary
Edward J. “Ed” Kowieski, 92, of South Haven, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the South Haven Health Systems. He was born April 5, 1922 to Joseph and Helen Kowieski in Chicago, Illinois. Ed served his country during World War Two. He also co-owned and operated Adams Electronics in Bangor for many years.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his wife – Ruth; brother – Henry Kowieski; grandchild – Katherine Anne.
Ed is survived by his children – Tom Kowieski of Sister Lakes, MI, Jaynie (Bill) Dunne of Elmhurst, IL, Julie (Jim) Todd of Columbus, OH, and John (Kathy) Kowieski of Elmhurst, IL; one brother – Leonard (Nancy) Kowieski of Niles, IL. 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home of South Haven. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 14, 2014 at the St. Basil Catholic Church of South Haven with Rev. Father Robert Flickinger officiating. Ed will be laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven. Contributions may be made in Ed’s memory to the St. Basil Catholic Church of South Haven.
