Willa's Obituary
Willa Mae Butler, 83, of Covert, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born August 26, 1930 to Walter and Susie (Campbell) Johnson. Willa was a registered nurse and worked at the Illinois Masonic Hospital and retired from the Cook County Hospital where she also taught nursing. Willa enjoyed being with people and was a foster grandparent working with the Catholic Family Charities. Willa was a member of Covert Community Church.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her first husband – Trammel Hyler; second husband – Earley Butler, Jr. M.D.; two sons – Marvin E. Hyler and Earley Butler III; two sisters – Rose Anderson and Betty Elam.
Willa is survived by her children – Karen, David, and Phillip Hyler all of Covert; sister – Melba Scarborough of Indio, CA. 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren also survive.
Wake will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Covert Community Church. Funeral services will follow wake at 1:00 PM at the church with Pastor Beverly Smith officiating. Willa will be laid to rest at Fish Cemetery in Covert.
