Dean's Obituary
Dean Keith Haines, 84, of Dowagiac, formerly of South Haven, died on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Timbers of Cass County Nursing Home. He was born May 30, 1929 to Dean and Luella (Struble) Haines in South Haven. Dean was a 1947 South Haven High School graduate. He worked for many years at Bohn Aluminum and the South Haven Rubber Company. Dean married Doris Haines on May 19, 1962 in Bangor. Dean cherished spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his wife of 41 years – Doris Haines who passed in 2003; son – Dennis Derwin; sister – Kay VanWynen; daughter-in-law – Trina Haines.
Dean is survived by his children – Don (Judy) Pagander of Mississippi, Andy Haines of South Haven, and Deana (Kerry) Wilson of Marcellus, MI; grandchildren – Tony (Susan) and Jason Pagander, Andy (Celeste) Haines, Stephanie Wright, Robbie and Carey Stainbrook, Tyler Wilson and Brittany Haines; sister – June (Chuck) Satkey of South Haven. 11 great grandchildren also survive.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 with Pastor Brian Lutz officiating at the Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven. Contributions may be made in Dean’s memory to the Heartland Hospice, 8075 Creekside Drive, Portland, MI 49024.
