Marilyn's Obituary
Marilyn Faye Swanson, 77, of South Haven, died Monday, April 21, 2014 at the South Haven Health Systems. She was born May 6, 1936 to Harold and Joy (Brashear) Burnsworth in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. Marilyn worked at DuWells in South Haven, at the South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community, and also in the women’s department at Walmart until her retirement in 2007. She married Ben Swanson on March 25, 1981. Marilyn enjoyed reading the Bible, knitting, crocheting, reading and completing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Marilyn attended the Church of the Nazarene.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her brother – James Holden; daughter-in-laws – Judy Vigansky and Anita Vigansky-Rayburn.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of 32 years – Ben Swanson; children – Mike (Tammy) Vigansky of Fountain, Henry Vigansky of Elkhart, IN, Charlie Vigansky of Covert, and Cheri Simpson of Liberty, KY. 15 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren also survive.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 1:00 PM with Pastor Scott Hollebrands officiating.
