Tommy's Obituary

 

Tommy Joe Blackston, Jr., 44, of South Haven, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the Wings Hospice Home in Allegan. He was born September 28, 1969 to Tommy and Rose (Brown) Blackston, Sr. in Watervliet. Tommy worked at DuWell in Hartford for several years and is a former produce manager for Village Market. Tommy enjoyed fishing, barbecuing, and playing video games. Tommy especially cherished time spent with his nephews. Tommy was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of South Haven.

He is survived along with his parents, his former spouse - Rebecca Blackston; his four sons – Tommy (Samantha) Blackston III of Coloma, Chris and Aaron (Miguela) Blackston, and Dakota Burnett all of South Haven; daughter – Savannah Lloyd of South Haven; two brothers – Corey Blackston of South Haven and Kenneth (Nikkole) Blackston of South Allegan. Six grandchildren also survive.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the United Pentecostal Church of South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 1:30 PM at the church with Pastor Philip Haner officiating. Tommy will be laid to rest at Chambers Cemetery in Geneva Township.
