Adeline Mary Grimes

Adeline Mary Grimes, 96, of South Haven, Michigan died on Friday, June 13, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 11, 1917 to Charles and Doris Covey. Adeline was married to Cyrus Grimes on December 9, 1944.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers, Lyle, Robert and A.B. Covey, her sisters Dodie Covey, Mary Harris, Delia Holmes, Carol Nichols and June Wall, her son Edward Solarski, daughter-in-law, Mara Grimes and her grandson, Joshua Grimes.

Adeline is survived by her sister, JoAnn Dunn, her children, Donna Nequist, Tim Grimes, Carol (Rick) Audette and Michael Grimes, her grandchildren, Lisa (Dan) Dwyer, Tom Williams, Marcie (Chris) Daly, Chad (Lisa) Audette, Jill Audette, Jacob (Aeria) Grimes, Caleb Grimes, Isaiah Grimes, Lori Painter, Mark Solarski, Steve Solarski, Lynn Procter, Teri Coufel and daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Solarski. She is also survived by many great grand children and great-great grandchildren.

Adeline spent her life as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was caring, loving and spent her life trying to give her family everything she could, which she did. Everyone that was lucky enough to have met her is better off than they would have otherwise been, having gotten a chance to know a woman strong enough to endure two World Wars, three broken knee caps, and 96 Lake Michigan winters, all while raising her own children and having a hand in raising many others. Her life is on that can be looked at with both admiration and envy, for passing in her own home surrounded by her family is how she wanted to leave us. She will be truly missed but forever alive in the memories and stories of those who knew and loved her.

As per the family's wishes, no services will be held for Adeline.
