Marilyn Jean Laraway

Marilyn Laraway, 76, of South Haven, MI, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014. She was born December 14, 1937 in South Haven, MI to Sigfried and Ida May Mattson. Marilyn graduated from Covert High School and worked as a legal secretary for Attorneys Meyer Warshawsky, William Verdonk and George Dunn for the past fifty years. Over the years, Marilyn gave help and advice freely to those who needed for a variety of scenarios. She was also a full time caregiver for her son Mike.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, her former husband, Russel Laraway, her companion for forty years, Frank Bovo and her sisters, Ione May and Dorothy Mattson.

She is survived by her sons; Doug and Mike Laraway, both of South Haven, MI. Her grandchildren; Chris, Lindsey, Taylor and Sidney Laraway. Her great-grandchildren McKenzie and Trinity Laraway. Sister, Arlene (Royal) Laraway of Pullman, and her dog, Clancy.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 31, 2014 with Pastor Mick Schmid officiating at the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Haven. A luncheon will be held at the Moose Lodge of South Haven following services.
