David Bruce Harding, Sr.

David Bruce Harding, Sr., 53, of Covert, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at his home. He was born April 29, 1961 to Austin and Hattie (Rosser) Harding in Watervliet. David graduated from Covert High School in 1980. He worked as a carpenter at Superior Construction for 15 years until their closing in 2005. Following Superior Construction’s closing, David became a self-employed carpenter. David also enjoyed working on audio/visual projects and helped take care of his mother’s home in Covert.

He is preceded in death by his father – Austin Harding, son – David Harding, Jr., and brothers– Chester, Charles, Leslie, and Albert Harding.

David is survived by his two daughters – Leslie Harding and Tiffany Jackson both of South Haven; mother – Hattie Harding of Covert; companion – Janina Anderson of Covert; Five sisters – Sara Hardina of Kalamazoo, Pearl Banks of Grand Rapids, Shirley Harding of Los Angeles, CA, Gloria Bailey of Florida, and Beryl Brumley of Jamaica; two brothers – Sherman  Harding of Covert and Austin Harding of Kalamazoo. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.

Wake will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M.  on Friday, August 1, 2014 at the Covert Community Church. Funeral services will follow the wake at 1:00 PM at the Covert Community Church with Pastor Beverly Smith officiating. David will be laid to rest at the Covert Cemetery.
