Christine Mitchell

Christine Mitchell, 89, of South Haven, MI, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014 at her home. She was born November 12, 1924 to John and Pauline (Gargano) Patti in Covert, Michigan. On June 21, 1947 she married her husband, James B. Mitchell at St. Basil Catholic Church. They were married for 65 years. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, wintering in Florida and reading. She was also a member of the Maple Grove Bible Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Mitchell, her daughter, Patti Mitchell, her sister, Grace Selter and her brother, Joseph Patti

She is survived by her children; Bill (Sue) Mitchell of Gatesville, NC. John (Roberta) Mitchell of South Haven, MI. Judy (Tom) Gardner of Bangor, Michigan. Barbara (Jim) Hensley of Scottsburg, IN. Tom (Trudy) Miller of St. Joseph, MI. Her siblings; Frances Fisher of Grandville, MI. Connie Smith of Stevensville, MI. Sister-in-law Arlene Patti of Winter Haven, FL. She is survived by 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home of South Haven. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the Anchor Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Milan Bittenbender. Christine will be laid to rest at the North Shore Memory Gardens in Hagar Shores, MI. Memorial contributions may be made in Christine's name to the Alzheimer's Association at 350 E. Michigan Avenue #20, Kalamazoo Township, MI 49007.
