Lawrence H. White

Lawrence H. White, 81, of South Haven, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at the Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He was born November 9, 1932 to Richard and Beatrice (Balich) White in South Haven. Lawrence graduated from South Haven High School in 1950. Lawrence married Janet L. Krohn on October 25, 1952 in Bangor. Lawrence served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a letter carrier for the South Haven post office for 35 years. Following his retirement from the post office, Lawrence worked as a security guard for Seven Trees Corporation until fully retiring.

He is preceded in death along with his parents by his wife of 55 years – Janet who passed in 2007 and son – David White who passed in 2012.

Lawrence is survived by his children –Terry (Steven) Kenneman of New Port Richie, FL, Rick (Theresa) White of South Haven, and Dan (Cindy) White of Paw Paw; two brothers – John and Richard (Sherry) White; two sisters – Mert (Harold) Peckstein and Clara Wilct. Seven grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren also survive.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home of South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 4:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Starks officiating. Contributions may be made in Lawrence’s memory to South Haven’s Hospice at Home or the Al-Van Humane society.
