Dana's Obituary
Dana A. “Doc” Kester 03525 53rd St, Grand Junction, MI 49056, passed away early Sunday, 28 September 2014, at his home.
Doc was born January 25, 1955, in South Haven, Michigan, to Bill and Alice (Underwood) Kester. He attended local schools, until he joined the US Navy, where he served as a Medic attached to the US Marines, towards the end of the Viet Nam conflict.
On August 7 1978, he married the love of his life, Kim Roe. In 1979, they moved to Wisconsin, where they lived for nearly 35 years, before moving back to Michigan late in 2012, to be closer to family. Doc loved riding his Harley, and was a retired member of the Sheboygan County Motorcycle Club, where served in various offices, during his years with them. He worked at Thomas Industries, Sheboygan, WI., in the die cast dept for 30 yrs
He leaves to mourn his loss, his loving wife, Kim, of Grand Junction, MI;, his mother, Alice (Sally) Birmingham of South Haven;, two sons, Todd (TJ) Kester of South Milwaukee, WI and Terry Kester of Grand Junction, MI: one brother, Murray Kester of Grand Junction, MI; two sisters, Marti (Raymond) Holmes and Lisa Burson, both of Bangor, MI; sister in law, Becky Kester of Sheboygan, WI. His is further survived by his father & mother in law, Harold & Carolyn (Wonders) Roe of Bangor, MI; brother & sister in law Jason & Kristen (Norby) Roe; of Stevensville, MI. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces, his SCMC club brothers, and many “adopted” brothers, sisters, children, nieces and nephews in Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his father, and two brothers, Donnie Kester and Terry Cisco.
Doc touched many lives, and will be remembered fondly by all whose lives he touched. He was always first to be there to help out if someone in need, and worked to raise money for many benefits, for many different things over the years.
As per his request, there will not be any services, though there will be a cookout at his residence on Saturday afternoon at about 1, for friends and family to join us for a time of remembrance and goods fellowship, at his residence, listed above. Please bring a dish to pass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Doc's memory to the Kester family. There will be a benefit dinner Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Skip'er Inn at 808 Broadway Ave, Sheboygan, WI53081. The event starts at 11:00 A.M. and is being hosted by the Sheboygan County Motorcycle Club.
