James's Obituary
James C. Brown age 91 of Bangor, Michigan died in his sleep on Friday, October 17, 2014 at his home. James was born on August 12, 1923 in Smithville, Georgia to Ernest and Alice (Morrow) Brown. James married Gertrude Merriweather on June 27, 1998. James was a hard working contractor. He loved to build and paint. He worked on several electrical plants building the steeple stacks. He was also a heavy equipment operator. James belonged to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in South Haven.
He is preceded in death by his parents – Ernest and Alice Brown, nine children and eight siblings.
James leaves to cherish his memory to his wife, Gertrude Brown of Bangor. Two daughters - Loretta (Alfonzo) Webb of Orlando, Florida and Annie Pearl Alvin of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. A host of grand children and great grand children also survives.
Wake will be on Friday, October 24 from 12 – 1 pm at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm with Mr. William Odebrecht officiating.
