Alice Birmingham

Alice Birmingham, 77, of South Haven, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. She was born July 15, 1937 to Bernie and Ruth (Nixon) Underwood in Leachville, Arkansas. Alice worked for South Haven Rubber and Double J Molding. She also worked at the Ivan Stein Farm in South Haven Township.  She married Lester Birmingham Sept. 26, 1992.  Alice loved to read and crochet.  She was a member of the Miracle Harvest Church in South Haven.  She loved spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Lester Birmingham,  sons – Dana Andrew Kester, Donald Kester and Terry Cisco.  Brothers – Bill and Bryce Underwood. Sister – Bonita Johnston.

Alice is survived by her children –   Alan Kester of Grand Junction, Marti (Raymond) Holmes of Bangor, and Lisa Burson of Bangor; siblings – Fay Key of Holland, and John Underwood of Memphis, TN.  Daughter in laws – Kim and Becky Kester.  Many  grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews  also survive.

Visitation will be held  on Monday, December 8, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Miracle Harvest Church in South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation beginning at 2:00 PM at the church with Pastor Anthony Kuenzli officiating. Alice will be laid to rest at McDowell Cemetery in Casco Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Alice’s memory to the Miracle Harvest Church.
