Frankie's Obituary
Frankie Mae Blackmon, 96, of South Haven, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the South Haven Health System. She was born June 12, 1918 to William and Lela (Burton) McFarland in Vicksburg, MS. Frankie loved going to church and enjoyed playing BINGO. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church of South Haven while Pastor Carl Langston presided. Frankie truly loved the Lord.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Quintchecter John Blackmon who died in 1955; children – Franklin and Brenda Blackmon, and Ronnie Wilson; sisters – Thelma Harris and Robbie Sconyers.
Frankie is survived by her children – Joletta Tyree of Kalamazoo, Dale Blackmon of Kalamazoo, Brian (Misty) Blackmon of Gobles, Carolyn (Nathan) Duncan of Cleveland, OH, and Darcy (Helena) Blackmon of Grand Rapids. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM on Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Second Baptist Church of South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jeffrey S. Dick officiating at the church. Frankie will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven.
