Sheldon L. Gould

Sheldon L. Gould, 92, of Fennville, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the South Haven Health System. He was born May 9, 1922 to Ralph and Dott (Sheldon) Gould in Lacota. Sheldon graduated from South Haven High School in 1940. He served his country overseas during World War II in the Army Air Corps. Sheldon married Bernadine Wing on December 18, 1942 at her family home in Ganges Twp. He worked as a maintenance supervisor at Bohn Aluminum for 38 years before retiring in 1984. Sheldon loved socializing and meeting friends at local restaurants. He was an avid gardener and accomplished wood worker who loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Casco United Methodist Church.

He is preceded in death along with his parents by his wife of 69 years – Bernadine (Wing) Gould who passed in 2011; siblings – Albert, Allan, Laurence, and Ralph Gould, Dorothy Jean and Phyllis Pensinger.

Sheldon is survived by his children – Patrick (Nancy) Gould of Katy, TX, Kathleen (Larry) Yankee of Fennville, MI, Mike (Peggy) Gould of Fennville, Peggy (Al) Marshall of Pontiac, MI, Larry (Lindsey) Gould of Glenn, and Karen (Wayne) Facca of Clarkston, MI; brother - Butch (Sharon) Gould of Florida. Eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home of South Haven. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Casco United Methodist Church with Reverends David Meister and George Fleming officiating. Contributions may be made in Sheldon’s memory to the Casco Band or Casco United Methodist Church.
