Shirley's Obituary

Shirley Maxine (Yeider) King, 89, of South Haven died Saturday, February 7, 2015 at her home.

She was born December 29, 1925 in Bangor, Michigan to Levi and Reta (Sternaman) Yeider. Shirley graduated from Bangor High School in 1943. She attended the elementary Johnstown School. Shirley worked at Tait Book and Art. She also worked for the telephone company and then worked for Bohn Aluminum in the trim room for 33 years retiring in 1988. Shirley enjoyed flowers, gardening and mowing her lawn.

 

She is preceded in death along with her parents by her three siblings – Raymond Yeider, Millicent Roe and Mervin Yeider and granddaughter – Afton Newton.

 

She is survived by her four sons – Tom (Carol) Newton of South Haven, Michigan, Tim Newton of Wyoming, Michigan, Bernie (Shelly) Newton of South Haven, Michigan and Phil (Lainee) Boss of South Haven, Michigan. Five grandchildren – Nathaniel (Ashley) and Tyler (Sarah Cooper) Newton, Marisa and Mariah Boss and Marijo (Joanne Eash) Adamcik. One great-granddaughter - Demi Boss. Two sisters-in-law - Peggy Ann Yeider, Harriett Yeider, and one special niece - Deena Hay also survive.

 

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 11:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. The memorial services will follow at noon officiated by Pastor Duane Jones. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
