Virginia's Obituary
Virginia Lee Carter, 95 of Casco Township, MI, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at the South Haven Nursing and Rehab facility in South Haven, MI. She was born August 4, 1919 to Clayton and Grace (Swan) Altenburg in Chicago, IL. During her life she worked as a receptionist for Dr. Davis.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Alfred "Pat" Carter who died in 1994.
She is survived by her children; Jim (Diane) Carter of South Haven, MI, Sandra (Paul) Willacker of Sparta, MI, Katreen Carter of Kentwood, MI, and Sherry (Charles) Dean of Reed City, MI. Her siblings; Dan (Becky) Altenburg of South Haven, MI and Audrey (Richard) Sherman of Denver, CO. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Casco United Methodist Church from 12:00 P.M. - 1:00 P.M. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Dave Meister and Rev. George Fleming officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Casco United Methodist Church at 880, 66th Street, South Haven, MI 49090.
