Pastor Lee Perry

Pastor Lee Junior Perry, 81, of South Haven, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 13, 2015. He was born January 13, 1934 to LeRoy and Mary (Williams) Perry in Taranga,
Arkansas. Pastor Lee retired from Auto Specialties in 1980.  He then went to work for Bernie Moret where he worked in the salvage yard for over 40 years. Pastor Lee married Catherine Franklin on February 9, 1952 in Blyville, Arkansas. He enjoyed watching sports on television and especially enjoyed wrestling. Pastor Lee loved his family and cherished the time he spent watching his grandchildren.  He was a proud Mason for over 30 years and faithfully donated to the Feed the Children and the South Haven Police Department. Pastor Lee served as Deacon and Assistant Pastor under the leadership of Pastor Robert Bass before becoming the pastor of New Testament Missionary Baptist Church. 

He is preceded in death along with his parents by his wife of 62 years – Catherine; son – Herman Lee Perry; daughters – Jenise and Kathy Perry; siblings – Robert, Ruben, Alonzo, Dave, Charles, and Jessie Perry, and Beulah Hayes.

Pastor Lee is survived by his children – Edith King of Las Vegas, NV, Ruby Smith of South Haven, Jerry Lee (Angie) Perry of
Holland, Carolyn (Rev. Martin) Jackson of Covert, Dorice (Robert) Perry of Grand Rapids, and Dorine Perry of Norcross, GA; brother – Arthur Perry of West Palm, FL; brother in law – Obbie Franklin; 22 grandchildren including two Special grandchildren – Franklin and Keyanna; 25 great grandchildren.
A host of nephews, nieces, and friends also survive.

Wake will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Lily of the Valley Church in Covert. Funeral services will follow the wake at 1:00PM with Pastor Soloman Black eulogizing. Pastor Lee will be laid to rest next to his wife Catherine at the Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven.
