Samuella's Obituary
Samuella Turman, 88, of Covert, Michigan passed on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was born April 1, 1926 to Samuel and Julia O’Large in Joliet, Illinois. Samuella married James Turman in the Fall of 1956 in Gary, Indiana. Their marriage lasted for over 43 years. She was a home maker up until the late 1980s. After raising all of her nine children and helping raise multiple grandchildren, she decided late in her life to gain
employment at Countryside Nursing Home in South
Haven, Michigan until her retirement. Samuella
enjoyed sewing, playing piano and putting together
puzzles. She also enjoyed doing hair and giving away many of her sewing projects. After receiving Christ in her life, she was baptized and joined Covert Seventh Day Adventist Church. Samuella held several offices in the church including Community Service Building.
She is preceded in death by her husband James Turman, parents Samuel and Julia O’Large, two brothers –
William “Snook” and Samuel “Babe” O’Large, three sisters – Martha Lee, Mammie, Juliette,
and Paige “Julie”.
Samuella is survived by her nine children – David (Doris) Aldridge, Leslie Turman, Starlyn Aldridge,
Michael Aldridge, George (Rosita) Aldridge, Lenetta Aldridge, Samuel Turman, Jimmy Turman, Adam (Tona) Turman. A host of grandchildren, great
grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
