Diane King

Diane Marie (Bala) King, 59, of South Haven, Michigan, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the South Haven Health System. She was born January 6, 1956 to Chester and Annabelle (Smith) Bala in Grand Rapids, Michigan. During her life, Diane worked as a packaging specialist at Perrigo. She retired in 2012 after 19 years of service there. Diane enjoyed watching Deadliest Catch, her favorite boat being "Time Bandit". She also loved watching sports cheering for the Detroit Tigers and for her favorite NASCAR driver, #88 Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Diane is preceded in death by her father, Chester Bala.

She is survived by her husband - Terry King of South Haven, MI. Her mother and step father - Annabelle and Louis Harnish of Hillards, MI. Her siblings - Brenda (Bub) Brainard of Burnips, MI, Jim (Karen) Bala of Hillards, MI, Ron Bala of Burnips, MI. Step-Siblings - Chris (Boyd) Navis of Hopkins, MI, Larry (Lisa) Harnish of Wayland, MI, Steve (Jenett) Harnish of Wayland, MI, Mary Harnish of Dorr, MI, and Jane (Terry) Post of Wayland, MI. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Dorr Township, MI, where Diane will be laid to rest next to her father. The service will be officiated by Deacon Russ Pogodzinski. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at 1400 W. Milham Avenue, Portage, MI 49024 or St. Stanislaus Catholic Church at 1871, 136th Avenue, Dorr, MI 49323.
