James's Obituary
James Edward Porter, 67, of Bangor, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. He was born June 19, 1947 to Frank and Claudie Mae (Nash) Porter in Parkin, Arkansas. James was a machine operator for Pullman Industries and later for LoveJoy for several years. He loved to be outside doing yard work and gardening. He also enjoyed reading and watching Westerns.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his companion – Bertha Belin and siblings – Sammie, Dorothy, and Willie Porter.
James is survived by his siblings – Bernice (Will Lee) Harris of Parkin, Arkansas, Frank (Ida Mae) Porter of Bangor, Michigan, LeRoy (Elizabeth) Porter of San Antonio, Texas, and Jerreann (Charles) Porter of Bangor, Michigan. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Military honors will be held Friday, May 15, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home of South Haven.
