Terry's Obituary
Marshall “Terry” Terrance Bodfish, 75, lifelong South Haven resident went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 15, 2015.
Terry was born on January 18, 1940 to Marshall Harry and Mina Rosalie Bodfish who preceded him in death. He married Kay on May 29, 1971. He and Kay shared many adventures whether it be going out West, spending the winter in Florida or staying at home driving around on the quad, with their little dog Skylar. Terry graduated from South Haven High School in 1958 and then went on to earn his meat cutting certificate at Toledo Meat Cutting School. He worked as a delivery man for Sherman Dairy and then worked as a foreman at Getman Corporation, until his retirement. He had a creative mind, was a perfectionist and took great pride in all that he did. He was also an active member of the NWTF, loved to trap with his late friend Charlie and was an avid fisherman thus, earning him the nickname “Fish”.
In addition to his loving wife Kay (and his little dog Skylar), Terry is survived by brothers Robert (Sharon), Richard (Terry) and sister, Phyllis (Jeff) Poorman all of South Haven and his very best friend Scott Harris of Bloomingdale, one son Greg (Shelley) of South Haven, three daughters; Marsha (Will) Lewis of Holland, Jennifer Bodfish of Bangor, Robin (Rick) Ferris of Mesick and two stepsons Ted (Janet) Dutmer of Kingsley and Ronald (Dawn) Dutmer of Lawrence. He also leaves behind 8 grand-children and 6 great grandchildren along with many dear friends. Preceding Terry in death along with his parents was his son Jim Bodfish.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at Filbrandt Funeral Home in South Haven. The service will be at Casco United Methodist Church on Friday, June 19, 2015 at 11 a.m. with the Reverends George Fleming and David Meister officiating. He will be laid to rest at McDowell Cemetery with a private family gathering. In lieu of flowers, please consider the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and the Casco United Methodist Church for any memorial contributions.
