Janice's Obituary

 

Janice Irene Williams, 87, died peacefully at the Inn of Freedom Village in Holland, Michigan on Tuesday, June 23, 2015. It is a blessing that she is now released from the ravages of Parkinson’s disease, which took her sense of smell and taste, her balance and finally her speech and ability to swallow.
 

Janice was an elementary school teacher in Mentor, Ohio, Baltimore, Maryland, Atlanta, Georgia, Congress Park, Illinois, and Hillside, Illinois. She was also a school librarian in LaGrange Park, Illinois. Janice also volunteered as a shelf reader at the South Haven Memorial Library.
 

She is preceded in death along with her parents by her sister – Shirley Schlenker.
 

Janice is survived by her husband Theodore James Williams of Holland, Michigan, daughter Wendy C. Williams of Denver, Colorado, daughter Robin L. (Lee) Williams-Voigt of Holland, Michigan, son Mark (Susan) Wells Williams of Norman, Oklahoma, grandsons Eric Theodore Voigt of Holland, Michigan, and Cooper Wells Williams of Norman, Oklahoma, brother Myron Miller of Raleigh, North Carolina, and sister Carol Ross of Sacramento, California.
 

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the First Congregational Church U.C.C. of South Haven with Rev. Catherine Batten Balk officiating. Janice will be laid to rest at the First Congregational Church Memorial Garden in South Haven. Contributions may be made in Janice’s memory to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, New York 10018.
