Patsy Gist

Patsy Ann Gist, 78, of South Haven, MI passed away after two decades of battling cancer, Monday, June 22, 2015 at Countryside Nursing Home, South Haven, MI. She was born on May 28, 1937 in Webster City, IA, the daughter to Evelyn and Herschel Wilson.  She married Robert Gist on February 6, 1983 at Four Square Church in Decatur, IL.  Patsy lived in Decatur, IL for many years where she worked at United Parcel Service.  She moved to South Haven, MI in 1983 where she retired from Palisades Plant as a receptionist after over twenty years of service.  She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in South Haven.  She loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Gist; her son, Brian (Janine) McGill, Bloomington, IL; a stepson, Dennis (Diane) Gist, South Haven; grandchildren, Bailey and Liam McGill, Bloomington; and Derron (Lari) Gist, South Haven, and a sister, Norma Coulter, Decatur, IL.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Thursday, June25, 2015 at the First Assembly of God in South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 6:00 PM at the church with Pastor Eric Jarvis officiating. Contributions may be made in Patsy’s memory to the church. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Boiling Springs Cemetery in Decatur, Illinois.
