Dorothy's Obituary
Dorothy Hoard, 64, of South Haven, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. She was born February 6, 1951 to Otis and Sarah (Dean) Brown in Lambert, Mississippi. Dorothy worked as a house keeper at Sleepy Hollow Resort. She loved reading, cooking, and taking care of others. She will be remembered for her kind heart.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Webb Hoard and brother David Brown.
Dorothy is survived by her children – Coretta Hoard of Kalamazoo, Patricia (Rahman) and Annette Reed both of Springfield, Illinois, Willie and Ronald Reed and Webb Hoard, Jr., all of Kalamazoo and Clifton Hatter of Chicago, Illinois, and Eypt Wilder of South Haven; siblings – Christina Gordon of Georgia, Tommy Brown of Saginaw, Otistean Truss, Junior, Bobby, and Frank Brown all of Saginaw. She is also survived by her close friends Brenda Foster and William and Ida Sledge all of South Haven. A host a nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Wake will be held from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Friday, July 3, 2015 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home of South Haven. Funeral services will follow the wake at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Amere May officiating.
