Shirley Krzemen

Shirley Krzemen, 80, of Lacota, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015 at her home under Hospice care. She was born December 5, 1934 to George and Bernadine (Sterling) Fike in North Branch, Michigan. Shirley graduated from South Haven High School in 1979. She married Ted Krzemen on February 23, 1951 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved to knit and enjoyed reading and watching soap operas. She also enjoyed playing board games with the grandchildren and cruising the beach.

She is preceded in death along with her parents by brothers Donald and George Fike and sister Margie Sims.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 64 years – Ted Krzemen Sr.; children – Sandy (Ron ) Morton of Kalamazoo, Kathy Buck of Phoenix, Arizona, Ted (Joyce) Krzemen of Lacota, Karl (Becky) Krzemen of Saline, Michigan, and Kevin (Brenda) Krzemen of New Port, Michigan; siblings – Mary Ellen Anderson and Beverly Fike both of Holland, Michigan, Bob Fike of Oklahoma, and sister-in-law – Daisy Fike of Pullman, Michigan.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 10, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Krzemen officiating. Shirley will be laid to rest in Lacota Cemetery.
