Norman's Obituary

 

Norman Eugene Cox, 60, of South Haven, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015 at the Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born April 28, 1955 to Jesse and Barbara (Shumaker) Cox in South Haven. He was known by his friends as “Stormin’ Norman”. Norman served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy. Norman loved wood working and was a skilled carpenter.

He is preceded in death by his father – Jesse Cox who passed in 2008.

Norman is survived by his children – Nicholas (Heather) Cox and Christy (Robert Thompson) Cox both of South Haven; mother – Barbara Cox; siblings – Jeff (Susan) Cox of Phoenix, Arizona, Patrick (Laura) Cox of South Haven, Carla (Bob) Young of Portage, Michigan, Lisa VanWy of South Haven; grandchildren – Shawn, Megan, Brittney, and Cody. Many close friends, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 12:00 PM with Rev. Father Robert Flickinger officiating at the funeral home. Norman will be laid to rest at the Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Norman’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
