Jason's Obituary
Jason James Matthew Clarke, Sr., 41, made his transition on September 6, 2015, in South Haven, Michigan.
Born October 5, 1973, Jason attended South Haven’s public schools. He graduated from LC Mohr High School in 1992. Shortly thereafter, he started his family with Elnora Bass. This union was blessed with four beautiful children whom he cherished immensely: Jason James Matthew Clarke, Jr., Elias James Olan Clarke, Kristal Darlene Ann Clarke and Matthew James O.D. Clarke, all residing in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Jason held several jobs during his short lifetime, working for local companies and contractors in the manufacturing, construction, painting and landscaping industries. He also worked in the Maintenance Department for the City of South Haven.
Jason loved the simple things in life, but most of all he loved being around his family. When he was not engaged in family-centered activities, he was either on his computer or watching football, basketball or NASCAR. He was also known for “chillin” in the backyard with family and his closest friends.
Jason was preceded in death by his grandfather, Alvin Clarke, Jr. and aunt, Pauletta McMillian.
Jason is survived by his loving family: father and mother, James and Patricia Wilkins, Jr. (Canton, MI); grandmother, Lillian Clarke (South Haven, MI); many uncles, aunts, cousins
Services will be held Monday, September 14, 2015, at the Lily of the Valley Church in Covert, MI. Visitation is at 12 noon, with his “Celebration of Life” at 1 p.m. Following the service, Jason will be laid to rest at the Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven.
Jason touched the hearts and souls of many and he will be deeply missed.
