"Hoss" Richard's Obituary
“Hoss” Richard Loyd, 73, of South Haven, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at his home. He was born July 17, 1942 to Albert and Pansy (Buser) Loyd in Plant City, Florida. Hoss married Kathy Hoyt on October 5, 1968 in South Haven. Hoss would volunteer his time at Hospice at Home, delivering medical equipment and assisting hospice patients with their daily chores. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in South Haven. Hoss loved his family and would often say that his girls were his sunshine.
Hoss loved boating and enjoyed any outdoor activity; fireworks, landscaping, and shooting his cannon.
Hoss is survived by his wife of 46 years – Kathy Loyd; two daughters – Susie (Jeremy) Price and Jenny Loyd, both of South Haven; grandchildren – Richard Moore and Olivia Price; great granddaughter – Anastasia Moore; siblings – Carrie Covey of Bangor, Marie (Dan Proman) Hodge of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and Ralph (Rhonda) Loyd of Bristol, Tennessee.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Monday, January 25, 2016 at the Filbrandt Fmaily Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 12:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Eric Jarvis officiating. Hoss will be laid to rest at Chambers Cemetery in Geneva Township.
