Betty Jean Chapman

Betty Jean Chapman, 82, passed away Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 at the Meadow Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. She was born December 16, 1933 to Rolan and Susie (Warfield) Reames in South Haven. Following graduation from South Haven High School, Betty married Jack Fennell. Betty worked as a book keeper for Canonie Construction and Pierce Medical. Betty belonged to the Beta Sigma Phi sorority and First Congregational Church of South Haven.

Betty is survived by her children – Rick (Connie) Fennell, Tyrone Fennell, Douglas Fennell, and Vance (Shannon) Fennell. Many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.

In 1992, Betty married George Chapman.  Surviving her are his children Rich (Judy) Chapman, Jeff (Linda) Chapman, Kathy (Ed) Knapp, John (Carol) Chapman, and Steve (Anne) Chapman, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 26, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 at Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the First Congregational Church of South Haven with Rev. Jeffrey S. Dick officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to South Haven Hospice at Home, 05055 Blue Star Highway, South Haven, Michigan 49090, or to the First Congregational Church of South Haven, 651 Phoenix Street, South Haven, Michigan 49090.
