Lawrence Gail Brassard

Lawrence Gail Brassard, Sr., 74, of South Haven, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 at his home under Hospice care. He was born October 19, 1941 to Elmer and Ruby (Goodrich) Brassard in Rockville, Illinois. Larry worked at the Watervliet Paper Mill for many years. He also enjoyed working with Gene Decker on his blueberry farm. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and trips to the casino. He enjoyed visits from his family very much.

He is preceded in death by his former spouse – Roberta Brassard.

Larry is survived by his children – Teresa Brassard of South Haven, Robert (Debbie) Brassard of Grand Junction, Cynthia Brassard of South Haven, Carla Beck of South Haven, Larry Brassard, Jr., of Alabama, Dennis Brassard of Zeeland, Carol Ann Christie of Bloomingdale, and Kenneth Brassard of South Haven, siblings – Richard Brassard and Rose Mary Irps both of Illinois. Sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren also survive.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home of South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 4:00 PM with Pastor Bobby Walker officiating at the funeral home. A luncheon will be held following services at Larry’s home, 06425 73rd Street, South Haven, Michigan 49090.
