Robert's Obituary
Robert “Bob” A. Butters age 92 of Glenn, Michigan, died Friday, May 27, 2016 at his home. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Bob worked for many years as a civil engineer, beginning in the family business, Butters Building Specialties, which was located in Chicago, IL. He then worked for Midwest Iron Works and finished his career at Robert A. Butters & Associates, Inc. in Glen Ellyn, IL. Bob served in WWII as an Ensign in the Navy. He married Roberta Simmons on July 3, 1949 at the United Brethren Church in Elkhart, Indiana.
Surviving is his beloved wife of almost 67 years, Roberta Butters; two sons, Robert (Bonnie) Butters of Glen Ellyn, IL and Jonathan (Carole Lannon) Butters of Chapel Hill, NC, a daughter Liza (Alekos) Grigoropoulos of Elk Grove Village, IL, and six grandchildren; and a sister Jane Morton of Pawley’s Island, SC.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday, June 4, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Glenn United Methodist Church. Memorial services will begin at 11:00 AM at the church with Rev Harold F. Filbrandt officiating.
