Harold's Obituary
Harold Jerome Peckstein, 83, of South Haven, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at his home under Hospice care. He was born May 16, 1933 to Valentine and Bertha (Winkel) Peckstein in South Haven. Harold married Myrtle White on July 21, 1951 at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Haven. He was a brick layer and worked for Olson Brothers and Pearson Construction. He was proud to be a member of the Union Local BAC 2 of Kalamazoo. Harold enjoyed playing golf and gardening. He was especially known for his sweet corn and pumpkins. He was a member of the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Haven.
Harold is survived by his wife of 65 years – Myrtle Peckstein of South Haven, son – Dennis (Linda) Peckstein of South Haven, grandson – Jamie (Kelly Tungate) Peckstein of Allegan, and brothers – Raymond Peckstein of South Haven and Karl Peckstein of Ludington.
Private family services have been held. Harold will be laid to rest at Chambers Cemetery in Geneva Township.
