Margie C. Gilliland Covey

Margie C. Gilliland Covey, 82, of Bangor, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016 at her home under Hospice care. She was born March 25, 1934 to Albert and Pansy (Buser) Loyd in Plant City, Florida. Margie worked at SE Overton and for the Michigan Fruit Canners. She was a member of the First Assembly of God and enjoyed reading her Bible. Margie enjoyed watching her shows including Wheel of Fortune, The Price is Right, and Law & Order. She enjoyed cooking and was a collector of Elvis memorabilia.

She is preceded in death by her mother - Pansy Aris Loyd, husbands – Robert Lee Gilliland, Sr. and Marvin Covey, daughter – Cindy Gallas, and brothers – Richard “Hoss” and Ralph Loyd.

Margie is survived by her children – Clifford (Linda) of Allegan, Shirley of Lafayette, Indiana, Frankey (Kathy) of Pullman, Ronald (Gina) of Hartford, and Robert Lee Jr. Gilliland of Holland, and Margie (Andre) Taylor of Bangor, and sister – Marie (Dan Promen) Hodge of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. A host of grandchildren and great grandchildren and one great great grandchild also survive.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 2:00 PM with Pastor Tony Kuenzli officiating at the funeral home. Margie will be laid to rest at McDowell Cemetery in Casco Township.
