John Franklin White

John Franklin White, 80, of Gobles, passed away Friday, September 30, 2016 at the River Ridge Retirement Community in South Haven. He was born September 20, 1936 to Richard and Beatrice (Halaschat) White in South Haven. John graduated from South Haven High School in 1954. Following high school, John worked at Everett Piano Factory for 8 years.  John then went on to work for General Motors for thirty years in Kalamazoo before retiring in 1997. John was an avid athlete and sportsman enjoying golfing, softball, bowling, and fishing. He has been a member at Cheshire Hill Golf Club for the past fifteen years.

He is preceded in death by his siblings – Beatrice Merrimen and Larry White.

John is survived by his children – Randy (Donna) White of South Haven, John (Bev) White of Edwardsburg, and Linda (JR) Martinez of South Haven, siblings – Clara Wildt, Mert Peckstein, and Dick (Sherry) White all of South Haven, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 13, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Memorial services will follow visitation at 6:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Travis Wilson officiating.
