Raquel Marie Longoria Callejas, October 7, 1935 – October 30, 2016

Raquel Marie Longoria Callejas, 81, of Fennville, Michigan entered into eternal rest on Sunday October 30, 2016 at Grace of Douglas, in Douglas, Michigan. She was born on October 7, 1935, in Los Indios, Texas. She was second born daughter to Tomas and Ramona G. Longoria. Her greatest accomplishments in life were being a loving wife to Artemio Callejas Sr., and family matriarch to her 13 children, 50+ grandchildren, 70+ great grandchildren, 2+ great-great grandchildren and especially her grandson, Paul Vasquez of Holland, MI, whom Raquel loved very much. A devout Christian all her life, Raquel found comfort in the Lord during life’s challenges. She loved life, made life, and shared life.

She is preceded in death by her husband Artemio, sister Delia Ramos of Rock Island, Il., brother Baltazar Longoria, Sr. of San Jose, CA, and granddaughters Rachel, Leticia and Alexia. 

Raquel is survived by her children: Martin Callejas of Fennville,MI, Mario Callejas of Fennville, MI, Epifanio (Kathy) Callejas of Wayne, MI, Erecima Callejas of Johns Island, SC, Nieves (Becky) Callejas of Douglas, GA, Christina (Thomas) Triano of Kingsland, Ga, Josephine (Rosendo) Flores of Panama City, Fla, Maria (Clarence) Williams of Jacksonville, Fla, Guadalupe Callejas of Holland, MI, Artemisa Guillory of Holland, MI, Artemio (Lisa) Callejas Jr of Holland, MI, Rachel Callejas of Lilbourn,Mo, Ramona (Jose) Lopez of South Haven, MI, and her siblings: Olga (Jose) Merla of Harlingen, TX, Jose (Dalia) Longoria of San Benito, TX, Aroldo (Elizabeth) Longoria of Grand Prairie, TX, Isaias (Elida) Longoria of Combes, TX, and Adan Longoria of Harlingen, TX.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, on Friday November 4, 2016, at Iglesia Pan de Vida, 2281 – 57TH St in Fennville, MI 49408. A celebration of life service will follow at 1:00 pm, officiated by her nephew, Pastor Fernando Ramos. Raquel will be laid to rest next to her beloved Artemio at Pearl Cemetery, in Clyde Township, MI. A reception will follow the funeral service at the First Assembly of God 5897 – 124th Ave in Fennville, MI 49408.
