Mary Eilleen Gibson

Mary Eilleen Gibson, 64, of South Haven, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born July 24, 1952 to Bernard and Joan (Pentridge) Parks in Evergreen Park, Illinois. Mary married Marion “Sonny” Gibson on September 15, 1978 in Pullman, Michigan and enjoyed 31 years of marriage before his passing in 2009. Mary retired from the Michigan Fruit Canners factory in 1991 after 15 years of service. She enjoyed reading and completing puzzles. She most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death along with her parents and husband by brothers – Bernard, David, and Edward Parks and two sisters – Joan Harrison and Joyce Parks.

Mary is survived by her children – Theresa (Eric) Wheeler of Constantine, Michigan, Michael (Cora) Gibson of Pullman, Robert (Patty) Gibson of South Haven, Sunny Gibson of South Haven, Audrey Gibson of South Haven, Kathy (Richard) Hefright of South Haven, Ann (Jerry) Parks of Fennville, Karen (Martin) VanHolt of South Haven, siblings – Bob Parks of East Chicago, Indiana, John Parks of Kalamazoo, and Jerome (Ann) Parks of Fennville. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home of South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 1:00 PM with Rev. Father Michael Ryan officiating at the funeral home.
