Muryl's Obituary
Muryl “Babe” Eldred, Jr., 87, of Grand Junction, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016 at his home. He was born March 28, 1929 to Muryl and Arlene (Stickels) Eldred in Maywood, California. Muryl married Jacqueline Mae Starbuck on March 26, 1949. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his service, Muryl worked in the transportation industry driving truck for C.B. Christian, Everett Piano, and South West Michigan Dust Control. He was exceptionally handy and enjoyed restoring Chevy Trucks and Farmall Tractors. He enjoyed canning and feeding the animals.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by a son – Frederick Eldred.
Muryl is survived by his wife of 67 years – Jacqueline Mae Eldred of Grand Junction, son – Robert Eldred of Bangor, four daughters – Rose Eldred of Coloma, Debbie Foune of Bloomingdale, Wendy Eldred of Breedsville, and Melissa Eldred of South Haven, siblings – Arthur Eldred of Scottsdale, Arizona, Ronald Eldred of South Haven, Frank Eldred of South Haven, Gene Eldred of San Diego, California, and Beatrice Landry of South Haven, 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, December 2, 2016 at the Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan.
