Joann's Obituary
Joann Frances Sorenson, 77, of South Haven, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at her home under Hospice care. She was born August 8, 1939 to John and Berniece (Gillis) Jones in Dexter, Missouri. Joann graduated from South Haven High School in 1958. She married Robert Sorenson on November 29, 1982 in South Haven. Joann worked as an operator, supervisor, and stock room attendant for GTE for 32 years. She later went on to become the South Haven Township Deputy Treasurer for another 19 years before her retirement.
She is survived by her husband – Robert Sorenson of South Haven, son – Dennis (Tali) Sorenson of Bangor, grandson – Devin Sorenson, and siblings – Dale (Faye) Jones of Jacksonville, Florida and Dorothy (Ed) Appleyard of South Haven. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Family services will be held at a later date. Joann will be laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven. Friends wishing to make a memorial contribution can do so to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123.
