Evelyn G. Schlaack

Evelyn G. Schlaack, 90, of South Haven, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at her home under Hospice care. She was born April 29, 1926 to Albert and Valintine (Goodrich) Hinz in South Haven. Evelyn married Carl Schlaack on July 28, 1945 at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Haven. They shared 70 years of marriage until his passing in June of 2016. She drove the school bus for South Haven Public School for twenty years and also worked for Everett Piano. She was a member of the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Haven.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband – Carl Schlaack.

Evelyn is survived by her children – Ron (Helen) Schlaack, Karla (Dick) Frazier, and Linda (Andy) Edge all of South Haven, four grandchildren – Malinda (Andy) Rose, Richard Schlaack, Brenda (Elijah) Foley, and Amy (John) Filbrandt, five great grandchildren – Alexia Kreigh, Kaleb Filbrandt, Alexxa Rose, Katelyn and Noah Foley, and one great great grandchild – Tori Couturier.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Haven. Memorial services will follow visitation at 12:00 PM with Pastor Stephen Daley officiating. Evelyn will be laid to rest in Chambers Cemetery in Geneva Township.
