Tyrus's Obituary

Tyrus Cobb Wallace, 95, of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Golden Orchards Assisted Living in Fennville, Michigan. He was born January 30, 1921 to John and Nellie (Wilbur) Wallace in Richardson, Kentucky. Ty served his country in the US Army during World War II where he received two bronze star medals and a good conduct medal. He worked as a meat salesman for Wilson, Southern Star, and Armor meat companies over his forty-year career in Eastern Kentucky. Tyrus enjoyed coaching little league, and he was an avid bowler on many leagues throughout the years.

He is preceded in death by his wives – Freda and Virginia Wallace.

Tyrus is survived by his children – Pamela (Joe) Wallace Foster of South Haven and Timothy Wallace of Knoxville, Tennessee, grandchildren – Brooke (David) Rains and Morgan (Corinne) Foster, great-granddaughter – Avery Foster, and sister-in-law – Phyllis Castle of Winchester, Kentucky.

Private family services with military honors will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
