Stefan's Obituary
Stefan “Steve” Brenner, 86, of South Haven, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. He was born October 15, 1930 to Anton and Veronica (Schuventer) Brenner in Yugoslavia. Steve honorably served his country in the uNited States Army. Steve married Phyllis Prim on June 5, 1954 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Chicago, Illinois. They shared 53 years of marriage until her passing in May of 2007.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife – Phyllis Brenner, and siblings – Anton Brenner, Anna Savich, Rose Jovanic, and Frank Brenner.
Steve is survived by his children – Linda (Randy) Grabner of South Haven and John (Amy) Brenner of Middletonn, Delaware, five grandchildren – Amanda (Rob) VanLoenen, Stephanie (John Barker) Grabner, Randall (Lindsay) Grabner, Johnny (Kelli) Brenner, and Jared Brenner, and four great grandchildren – Abigail, Benjamin, Aiden, and Raylind.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a scripture service on Monday, January 16, 2017 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the St. Basil Catholic Church. Steve will be laid to rest next to his wife Phyllis at Monk Cemetery in Geneva Township.
